39 happened yesterday. My dad keeps telling me no one is going to believe I am 39 just to tell them I am 40. But I am going to enjoy my last year of my thirties telling everyone I am 39 because 40 will come all too quickly! They tell you time passes quicker the older you get. And it is true. I am thankful for another year. Very thankful. Not to get all sappy on you, but this little thing we call life is busy and hectic. And it is so easy to get caught up in the rat race. Yesterday was a normal day for me. I got to be mom, which is my favorite thing. I do not take it for granted. Audrey woke up sick in the middle of the night, so she stayed home from school. The first thing everyone will ask is what did you do to celebrate your birthday??? I am pretty sure everyone has glorious plans thought out in their head. But I got to take care of my little girl. I was able to snuggle her and play cards with her all day. It wasn’t glamorous, but I know there will be a day I will want my little girl to need me and wish I could take care of her. It was not the day I had planned, but I am reminded that my birthday is just a day. And we need to remember to celebrate the life we are blessed with not on just this one day, but all 365 days of the year.
